One of my favorite places to shop is Amazon.com. I like them because they have such a great selection and pretty good prices. So the other day when I was looking for a headboard reading lamp, I came across some pretty good deals. I thought that I would share them with you. These are the top rated and most popular LED reading lamps at Amazon.
The Fulcrum Multi Flex LED book light has more than 169 customer reviews on it and it is rated a 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is listed at .49. It has a very bright LED light that will provide plenty of light no matter what you are doing. Its flexible neck allows you to twist and turn it how you like and it will stay put. It has a clip that you can use to attach it to a shelf, desk, or even the book you are ready. Plus, it is energy efficient! What more could you want?
Second is this Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Craft Light than runs .99. It has 36 customer reviews overall and is rated a 5 out of 5 stars. This is an extremely small light that is perfect for traveling or carrying in your purse. It weighs only 3.2 ounces so you won't even notice that you are carrying it. It is only 6" long, but it supplies amazing light whenever you need it. I sure wish I would have had it the other night when I was in my hotel trying to read by the small lamp while my wife was trying to sleep!
Now here is an ingenious little idea. It is a pack of LED stick on lights that have an adjusting pivot. You really have to see the pictures to get an idea of what I am talking about. But it basically looks like a fire alarm that can stick or be mounted anywhere you like. Once you have mounted it, its internal light will swivel in a circle and pivot up to 30 degrees to give you the perfect lighting that you need. It has 3 settings - on, off, and dim, and it claims that its light can last up to 100,000 hours.
Now some people say that reading with limited light can hurt your eyes permanently. In fact, my mom told me this for years and years. But research has shown that this just is not true. Eyes are like a muscle. They do get tired, and you are straining them by reading in with little light. So your eyes may get tired and even cause you a headache, but you won't permanently harm your eyes by reading in the dark.
Still, why get a headache? Not for me. Just buy a reading lamp instead. They are really nice to have around especially if you are an avid reader who likes to read while your spouse is sleeping!
